Norfolk 2021

Well the annual trip this year was kept local due to you know what and Norfolk was the chosen destination. Four participants rode down to Heacham and we stayed in a pleasant holiday cabin.

A good time was had by all, with a visit to RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall on one day treating us to several aircraft movements throughout the day, day 2 saw us visit to the Norfolk motorcycle museum and the Muckleburgh Military Collection. The motorcycle museum, if you can really call it that was slightly disappointing, however the military collection, was well worth the visit, bringing back memories of past service

All went well with men and machines until the second day when I lost my rear brake completely. Several attempts were made that evening to bleed the system, however fluid was just disappearing, so and in depth diagnosis was needed on return.

In the end, I found the brake pipe from the ABS unit to the rear calliper has been damaged and the resultant hole in the pipe was just depositing fluid into the rear suspension. On detailed inspection it looks like the rear suspension unit has chaffed the pipe after negotiating some deep holes on an off road section. The pipe runs very close to the suspension and I will find a better route for the new pipe.
